Welcome Visitors, This website is designed to exhibit my abilities as a biology teacher. Call it an "online portfolio" if you desire. Feel free to look about all you need, and if you wish to contact me regarding a résumé, home contact information or any other reason, please refer to the e-mail address listed below. One final note: though my legal name is Walter Kaelin, for the majority of my life I have gone by the epithet "Beau" so please do not become confused when reading material regarding my work and see the name Beau Kaelin used in reference to me. Update 2-18-06: A long time since my last update, so here's the scoop. I'm currently teaching Integrated Science for freshmen at Bullitt Central High School (and have been since the beginning of the year). I've updated several small items (work history, fixed a couple of broken links, etc.) and plan to add several lesson plans once I've completed the KTIP process. Update 3-13-05: About Me section and work history updated. Update 12-11-04: New section entitled "Artwork" added. Also, artifact #6 in the portfolio section now contains the actual PowerPoint presentations for viewing (something you wouldn't get in the hard copy of the portfolio). -Site Breakdown- -The first section, entitled "About Me", features a brief biography that includes my work history, personal beliefs and attitudes regarding work ethics and education, and various vital statistics -The second section, entitled "Portfolio," is quite simply an online version of my work portfolio that was compiled during my MAT program at the University of Louisville. Take as long as you need to browse around. -The third section, entitled "Lesson Plans," is a section of the site that contains a small sampling of the lesson plans I created while student teaching and completing my Master's program. -The fourth section, entitled "Artwork" is a section of the site where I posted some of my artwork at the behest of others. A good biologist should be able to document what they observe and this is just a sample of how I go about doing it. -The final section, entitled "Links", features links to pertinent educational websites. Websites that are included are either those of professors or colleagues that host my work or those that contain information on the various state and program standards referenced here.
