My name is Walter Kaelin and for the past seven years I have been a manager with Apex Entertainment. The company is a theatre chain located in Louisville, KY that operated two theatres. I began in the summer of 1999 in a position that most theatre managers do, in the trenches of the concession stand. Within three months, I was promoted to chief of staff. Two months later, I was promoted to the rank of manager. For approximately a year, I was a "transitory manager". If a member of management was terminated at Village Eight, I would assist with operations until a replacement was found. My duties also included both interviewing prospective managers as well as assisting with their on-site training. When the replacement was complete, I would return to the Baxter Ave. and assist with daily operations there. My longest stint at the Village was from February - October 2001, where I served as general manager for the company. In October 2001, a fellow manager at Baxter Ave. fell ill, necessitating my return to the theatre. His subsequent death locked me into position at the theatre. By December 2002, I was in charge of all media relations and promotions for the theatre. I have continued to serve as promotions manager for the theatre since that time. A breakdown of my duties, as well as additional information of note, can be found below. Duties
